Epilepsy News From: Monday, December 07, 2020
I hope everyone is staying safe! As many of you know, the October 2020 Biannual Ketogenic Diet International Meeting was postponed due to the pandemic to October 19-23, 2021. It will continue to be sponsored by Matthew’s Friends Charity and held in the seaside city of Brighton, UK. Currently plans are to have the meeting still in person, but decisions will be made regarding virtual attendance opportunities in the next few months.
The website for the meeting is now active at www.globalketo.com.
You can submit abstracts for poster presentations starting February 1, 2021.
In preparation for the meeting, Matthew’s Friends has commissioned 8 short webinars on various topics related to the ketogenic diet that are free to watch. They will be released one at a time over the next few months.
How to Watch
- These are all located at http://globalketo.com/web-series.
- They are also able to be linked through:
The first webinar is by Dr. Helen Cross entitled “Ketogenic Therapies: 100 Years of the Diet.”
In order to watch the webinars, you will need to first complete a short registration with Matthew’s Friends. You can then also submit questions which will be collected and then answered a few weeks after each webinar in the form of podcasts.
They are supported by Matthew’s Friends, Nutricia, and the newly-formed International Neurological Ketogenic Society (INKS).
