I think it's time I see a specialist

Fri, 05/15/2020 - 14:30
Hello to everyone As I said in my introduction; I'm French so I may make some mistake in my writing. Please be kind to me :-) Well; I have to say I started experienced this years ago but lately it's seems to get worse and despite all I'm reading, I'm still having doubts it's actually seizures I'm having. Well it always start like .. I don't know .. a word or a sound or maybe a smell.. and then it starts.. I feel my body getting cold especially my back and my stomach.. all cold and then i see some scene and I'm like : I already lived that ... I see images and sound and everything and I get cold and cold and cold and still the deja vu feelings .. it can last around 30 seconds then it disappears and leaves me breathless and sometimes with nauseas. I can't say it's unpleasant, I don't know how to say but it's not unpleasant. It can happen several time a days and then leave me alone for months. Last time it happened, I remember I played arcade games with a lot of flash and it occurs just after. I can also experience some unwanted moves when I try to get some sleeps but it's also on and off ... But since two days and I don't know why , I experience it several time a day ! Yesterday I had like 8 times Today 3 and I have to say I'm starting to questioning myself. Lately I had thyroids disorders and I started a new medication; hormons induction .. so I don't know if it's linked to that.. dunno. I think I'm going to take an appointment. What do you guys think about that ? Thank you !

ktee,Thank you for sharing your experience.  Your description sounds very much like what I described to my doctors as a child with the exception that I did not have the cold sensation.  I still have the sour smell once in a while from a seizure.  And the one thing that I appreciate reading is your difficulty in describing it as not unpleasant.  The seizures that I have had have always been a bit scary, but there is that hard-to-describe element that they almost seem pleasant.  I've had seizures all my life (50+yrs) and in more than forty years of trying to describe them to doctors I don't think I ever acknowledged that they sort of feel good.  I've been afraid the doctors would think I'm crazy.  But a good specialist who listens will understand it's possible to feel pleasure from a seizure.  I'd say it's just as likely as any other emotion or sensation. Your description is great.  Keep a diary of the seizures and go for that visit with a specialist.Michael
