Functioning - a poem of fustration
Fri, 07/06/2018 - 15:50Topic: Creative Corner
Defective, broken, built with a dent
Cracked and chipped, a part that is bent
Analyzed, realized, put back on the shelf
As others are taken, it sat by itself.
Flawed and torn, boxed up with it scratched
An error, mistake that cannot be patched
Examined and seen, the item returned
Put in the back with no one concerned.
But it knows its flaw, defect, its break
It's error, malfunction, it knows the mistake
Epileptic, a seizure, a non-working brain
No one would buy that, all would abstain.

Very well written, I think we can all really relate to that feeling of being defective. But it's important to remember that we're always worthy of love, life and everything that comes with it. I'm a firm believer in "everyone has something." No one makes it through life without encountering their "something," and everyone has their challenges. To write everyone off as broken because of their challenges or imperfections would be absurd. I guess what I'm saying is you aren't broken, you're human. And being human means life comes with dents. Lean in and really *live* as much as you can. I hope you find people to surround yourself with who can see you as a full person, flaws included but strengths as well.Take careB
