Look up interical behavioral symptom and post seizure behavior both matter.

Re: AFTER SURGERY-IS THAT FEELING A SEIZURE???????

Hey All, just wanted to *bump* this. I was curious what everyones symptoms were at this point? I am about 16 mo's out and still no seizures. I do have a small something every now and then that scares the heck out of me though.... Hope everyone is still doing well and enjoying life free of seizures!

Re: AFTER SURGERY-IS THAT FEELING A SEIZURE???????

Hi Greg - I have had seizures since birth due to trauma during delivery. I have never had surgery so honestly with regard to that aspect I can not relate. However, prior to having a seizure my mouth gets numb and a funny sensation in my face which leads to a possible intensity of a complex/partial or tonic clonic. However, I have found that if take deep breaths, the numbness subsides along with the sensation in my face/head. If you want to talk more about how you are doing or share more of your experiences, you can e-mail me at michaelpatrickflynn@yahoo.com. Take Care Michael

Re: AFTER SURGERY-IS THAT FEELING A SEIZURE???????

HAY THERE Gregg - Congrats on taking the challenge. Im in the same club. Had RLT 7/06 & will still get the beginning of what I term "misfiled aura" in the brain. It will kind of make me think/feel seizure is here but suddenly get a message "oh, no its not at all" I won't dare mention this "funny feeling" to anybody cuz everyone is so happy to see me doing so well. I have more energy & clarity than my 11 & 14 yr old sons. They often tell me to turn it down but I'm still tryin to remove the old "aura" feeling/file in the meantime.

Good wishes to you!

Sherri

Re: AFTER SURGERY-IS THAT FEELING A SEIZURE???????

Hey Guys:  I realize that this is an older thread, but I was
wondering if either of you are still around maybe I could find out how
you are doing!

I too just had a Right TL Resection to try to Curb
15 yrs of Seizures.  So far- I have been FEELING GREAT!   And I just
had the surgery 1 week ago.  I know that something is different and
that this is going to be such a Wonderful Life Changing Decision that I
have made!

Last night while lieing in bed, trying to go to sleep
I experienced what I would call a Non-Aura.  It was an odd "sensation"
but definately not an Aura and it didn't lead to a seizure.

 I
was curious if either of you experienced many of these and did it go
away?  I had read somewhere that Aura's after Surgery are common.  Do
you find this to be true?  As I said, I am feeling wonderful, but of
course now I am scared that a seizure may happen!

My other thought was maybe the Vicodin I have been taking caused it?

Any thoughts you or anyone have on this are so welcome!

Thanks so much!

Re: AFTER SURGERY-IS THAT FEELING A SEIZURE???????

Great thread.  I also had - and am having - what seems to be auras, but they never progress.  My surgery was 9 months ago.

I also would like to know how you all are doing.

Re: AFTER SURGERY-IS THAT FEELING A SEIZURE???????

I love this thread too!!  I was trying to describe these odd short feelings to my neurologist just after my surgery in the 90's and he laughed!  He winked at me!  He gave me a term and winked and told me not to worry.  He said some doctors will say you are hallucinating.  It will not record as a sz.  One month later I was working and that symptom never came back!   I married 3 months later!
