Lesion issue

Sat, 10/14/2006 - 16:00
I have a right temporal lobe leison and am having surgery using the lobectomy approach next Wednesday. My question is for Barbie. You said you have had a lesion and did not indicate a surgery plan for it. I had a second MRI with contrast and on it, the lesion enhanced indicating abnormal blood flow around it and some swelling. Here is something I have learned that is very important. Benign lesions can become malignant and should be removed! In my case, it looks benign but that cannot be said with 100% certainty. Please push your doctor on this one. Thanks, Woody

Dear Woody- I happened upon your post and I had a benign right temporal lesion removed 5 years ago and there is still a little left that they have been monitoring once a year. Did yours turn malignant? Or the small chance that they can switch over with time? Just curious- Hope your surgery goes well! Remember to keep your head raised at night or you'll have a swollen face in the morning- I scared myself a few times...:P Good Luck!
