Memory Problems after right temporal surgery??

Sun, 02/26/2006 - 08:35
Hi, My name is Amie and I had a right temporal lobectomy in May 2001. I'm coming up on five years and I have been siezure free. I had petit mal siezures all my life and now they seem to be gone. I'm not complaining, but I do seem to be having memory problems. My memory was never good growing up because of the scar on my brain but right after the surgery I think it got better. I have found my short term memory getting worse again. Its as simple as I cannot remember a minute later if someone just told me their name. And forget about remembering a phone number:) I was just wondering if anyone else is experienceing this. Believe me I do not regret the surgery and would encourage anyone who is considering getting it to do it. But I just want to make sure these side effects are normal..
