Right Temporal Lobectomy In Children

Sat, 07/19/2014 - 15:40

We just learned that my 9 year old is a candidate for surgery - right temporal lobectomy. They believe he has cortical dysplasia. Can anyone share their experiences with the surgery in children? Did the patient experience any issues - long or short term - with memory loss? What was the recovery time like? Was the surgery successful in terms of stopping or at least lessening the number of seizures? Thanks!
