Three years old having surgery

Hello, my name is Angel and i have a 3 years old son With intractable Partial Epilepsy. The are wanting to do surgery on his RTL where some of his seizures are coming from. Hes only 3 and I was wondering if anyone had the surgery and what was the risk of them taking out the RTL.
