Toxic from AED build-up

Tue, 12/27/2005 - 22:07
My 16-year-old daughter has been lethargic and feeling very poorly for 7 weeks. Sleeps 15 hours per day and unable to attend high school. Doctor thinks her body has been unable to process her AEDs (meds) and they have built up in her body. Are slowly reducing daily meds but risk of increased seizures causing anxiety for my daughter. Anyone with similar issues?

My daughter has been on AED's for 15 years. Most of the time she feels not all that great. We have tried at least 10 different drugs, some of which made her very sleepy and lethargic. I found that complimentary treatments help her feel more energetic and help her general moods to be a little happier. Reflexology and acupunture work very well for her.
