VNS has almost got me sz-free

Hi all,

 I have been on here several times before talking about my VNS and then updating you.  Well on January 5th I saw my neurologist and turned in my sz log that started on sept 29th at that appt adn ended on the 5th when I turned it in.  I only had 9 szs in exactly 100 days.

 I don't know who was happier me or my neuro.  He has been waiting a long time to see a log like that one. 

Now he is giving me a 6 month break rather than seeing me in 3 months I will be seeing him in July and he will start to reduce some of my meds that I take.  I  take Neurontin ( he already tried to take me off that one and wound up leaving me at a reduced dose because I could not come off of it), Lamictal, Topamax, and Klonopin.

I have Complex Partial szs with auras.  Everything else has been abated by the VNS.

My VNS amps are at 2.0 and he is done  turning it up or down.

His goal is to get me sz-free on the VNS with lowered dosages of meds.  We have had a few set-backs, but have kept on trucking forward with it. 

Inbetween the szs and the epilepsy he has been trying to treat my Migraines, and yesterday I had a TPI or Trigger Point Injection in my neck in my cervical vertibrae to try and getrid of them, so he can focus on the epilepsy rather then try and treat both things. 

We shall see how that goes.

 my headhaches are spun off my meningitis and encephalitis from back in 95.  So I hope it works.

Anyway that is about all for now.

I will keep you posted as to how I am doing with my VNS come July.
