Lyrica Withdrawal Pain

Submitted by web-site-admin on Mon, 11/18/2013 - 21:09
I am slowly coming off Lyrica and switching to a new medication while simultaneously recovering from an unrelated minor back injury. Since decreasing the Lyrica a few days ago, my back pain has unexpectedly gotten worse and worse. I know that Lyrica is also used to treat some types of pain. Is my back pain being exacerbated by the Lyrica withdrawal? Could this be hindering the healing process? I do not want to develop chronic back issues because Lyrica withdrawal kept me from healing properly. Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

Weakness after cluster?

Submitted by web-site-admin on Mon, 11/18/2013 - 17:34
Thursday was a rough day, had a group of cluster seizures...one right after the other. After being released from the hospital I'm finding I'm having a hard time finding the right words or not having them come out right. Also having a hard time holding on to things with my right hand. Hard time typing, holding things, making it do what I want it to. It's been three days and not getting better. Anyone had this problem? I'm really tired of dealing with this already- help!

Night seizures waking my 13 year old

Submitted by web-site-admin on Mon, 11/18/2013 - 14:29
Good afternoon, Apologies in advance for the lengthy post. I really need help/suggestions/experiences from which to pull. I have a 13 year old who was diagnosed with Epilepsy (focal seizures) February 2013. Around November 2012 she started having weird sensations under her left shoulder blade and would lose sensation in her legs and have an episode where she rolled on the ground or shrugged her shoulder rapidly to make the sensation go away. I thought she was being her normal dramatic teenage self so I didn't think much of it until she told me why she was doing it.

Lost and Confused

So I have had epilepsy since I was six months old. I am now in my thirties and I have been in a relationship for the past eight years and we have two kids together, I recently had a seizure that made me lose my memory and made me not be in love with the man I have been with. Before the seizure I got invited to an old friends birthday party and I started talking with this old friend again. At the party we each found out that when we were in grade school we each had a crush on each other and that he still has a crush on me till this day.

More tired than people without epilepsy

A question...

I had the idea that because I have epilepsy I'm more tired than people without.

Epilepsy isn't the only thing I have. I have autism too.

So somethimes, with new things everything is too much.

And than its logic I'm tired. But sometimes did I have little symtoms that it rumbles in my head in the morning.
I'm feeling me strange, and thats get over, but I am quicker tired als normal, it feels.

Adult Healthy Siblings Research

My name is Julie Simon, and I am a doctoral student in clinical psychology at Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology in Boston. I am currently working on my doctoral thesis on healthy siblings of individuals with epilepsy. The following study is an exploration into the long-term impact of growing up with a sibling who has epilepsy. There are few research studies that ask adult healthy siblings to talk about how their childhood experiences with illness in the family have affected their current lives.

TLE and Demons

I know this is a really odd title, lol. But while I was really sick with TLE I had a lot of mental health issues. Stemming from what they thought was PTSD to eating disorders, to depression, dissociative disorders, etc. So because no psychiatrist knew what it was and I couldn't afford anymore treatment to help me and nobody could even put a knick in it (because they weren't treating what was really wrong) I went to receive free treatment at what I believed to be a credentialed facility with licensed professionals.

I finally finished all of my pre- operative tests for Epilepsy surgery and my surgery is scheduled for December 13th. I just have one question... For those of you who have went through Epilepsy surgery I would like to know what types of tests are involved in the pre admission tests before the surgery begins? Any comments would really help me. Thank you.
