I don't think anyone here is qualified to answer that question. Discuss the different options with your doctor, and then decide what is best for you to try. Karen 40 years old, dx'd with simple partial seizures from scar tissue on 9/26/06. Married 16 years, mother to Connor, 12 (Asperger's, ADD, Learning Disabilities) and Raymie, 5, bossy little princess.

Sadly, there is no specific

Sadly, there is no specific best med; since, logically, if there was everyone would already be completely controlled on the same drug. That isn't the case (even today not all is understood about the brain). The fact is that current AED meds, which can and do cause negative reactions in some people, also completely eliminate seizures in others. Bottom line: it's a matter of finding which meds work best for you. Here are a couple pages of info: http://www.epilepsy.com/articles/ar_1139326893.html http://www.epilepsy.com/epilepsy/seizure_medicines.html hope that helps ~sol
