the big O

OK, I'm just going to come right out with it... Do any of you ladies think that your meds affect the quality of orgasms, or even your ability to have them? I am now on trileptal and topamax and it's just not the same :-( Sorry if this is too direct - I don't mean to offend anyone.

I have noticed that it is a little harder for me to have one.....I am on Dilantin, and the doctor is switching me to something else soon. I haven't really had too many problems, for me, it's more that I have lost some desire to even have sex.

Hi Lizbeth- At my age,54, it is not as big a deal to me as someone younger, however, I have been on E meds for various reasons for about six years, and the desire has faded. I am also post menopausal and diabetic so that has to also fit into the equation. I find that it takes more attention and intimacy from my husband to make me feel that my shaking or jerking or loss of hair does not make me less attractive to him. Also I am very tired at night and we need to find time that fits around my med schedule. One last suggestion is to get out of your normal environment if you can. Being surrounded by the memories of this disease does not make you feel very desirable. Hope this helps. Hugs Joan
