No diagnosis/need help

Tue, 01/23/2007 - 11:14
I've had epileptic seizures since I was 19. I'm about to turn 29. I've had two neurologists and neither have given me a diagnosis other than "It's genetic". Well no one in my family is aware of any history of epilepsy. I had a grand mal on 1/5 after being "weaned" of Depakote". My neurologist told the ER doctor to do a pregnancy test although my tubes are tied. They didn't do a CT. I've only had one MRI done, when I was 19. My doctor has only performed EEGs and sent me for blood tests. He put me on Lamictal after the seizure. My husband and I are fed up and ready to travel if necessary. I'm in NC. Does anyone have suggestions on what I should do? Thanks

Definitly. Here's a dumb ? What's a VNS? By the way, I'm looking to Duke to find a good doctor. I'm tired of playing games with neurologists who seem to only want your insurance money, copay, and time. I want a doctor who is ready to improve my quality of life and not waste my time. Keep in touch.
