Question for those w/ catamenial epilepsy

Does your seizure activity increase the week before... only a few days...or like just the day of your menses? also, do you have increased activity at ovulation as well?

I know where you are coming from......it just begin happening to me also......out of the blue.....it has been 4 years for me now. Has any of your docs suggested Progresterone therapy. IT WORKS!!!!!!
It was my miracle drug. I have been on every drug known to man.....and this is the only thing that works. I am actually considering a hysterectomy, due to this and other problems....but it is hard to get someone to do it at my age.

How has Progesterone therapy worked for you, did you have anxiety attacks? I have the ringing in my ear, nocturnal seizures around my period, and when I get stressed out I will have a seizure this has all taken place in the last 6 years, I have an underactive thyroid and 2 months ago have what they call sleep apnea and on a CPAP machine, this is crazy and I need to lose some weight, so what exactly is Progesterone therapy?

Wendy Sorry to hear all the trouble you are having. It can get nasty. As for the men, I believe they deal with the decrease of hormones but no doctors really look into it for men. It just happens we get it way worse. Not many doctors know or deal with the hormone issues. It needs to be brought up to your doctor. There is a pill or cream for it too. I just cant think of the name of it pill. I will post it when I do remember. But there are products out there that are synthetic and then cause more issues.
