Lamictal and rash, but not THE rash

Thu, 10/04/2012 - 10:25

Hello!

I have a mild rash on my left arm.  It is very slowly spreading. I've seen a nurse practitioner and a doctor.  Both agree it is not THE Lamictal rash that kills (Stevens-Johnson syndrome).  And I've seen many of those pics and by comparison, my rash is just a rash but I did what the do said and came in.  I should have asked, "Does Lamital also just cause ordinary rashes?  I can't explain the rash.  It is gradually spreading. It itches.  I'm just wondering will I one day or many times in the future have to explain I have a medication reaction.  Where I work, they would not only not understand but take steps to remove me.  They tried it months ago (BAD reaction to Tegretol, nothing like this minor problem) and I said "Whether you discriminate is up to you. I'll just call NAMI.  I need counsel now."  That shut them down.  They probably thought NAMI was a person, like a lawyer.  I digress.  Sorry.  Meds you know.  Does anyone know if Lamictal can cause an ordinary rash?  I don't know when I began it.  I can't remember things so well.  But I would say months ago.  Thanks!
