Medications and workout supplements

Wed, 06/19/2013 - 15:03

I want to start taking supplements for working but I'm not sure if it will increase my chances of having seizures. I am currently taking Keppra 1000 mg twice a day? Woud supplement take interfere with my medicatio or not? If they do which ones will and which are safe to take if I can some?

It depends on what supplements you'd be taking.

Best advice is to talk to the doctor treating your seizures and prescribing medicines. Depending on what 'supplements' or over the counter products you are talking about, they could affect seizures or interact with seizure meds. Epi_help Resource Specialist

I have 2 doctors. 1. My primary care physican 2. My neuro.  I have also know for way longer than you have ben alive that taking any medicine can and does enterfer with AEDs and visa versa. Check with your doctors and ask them which supplements could be good for you to take. You might also check with a pharmasist and find out what the side effects are for those suppliments. I ahve my doctors passing my information to each other so they both are aware of everything happening in my little world and they also contack each other regarding medications they might be wanting to put me on. Which is good because they both want me healthy and alive so they get to see me and get some money. I have had both for many years and they are more than doctors to me.

So ask your doctor and get his views who knows he may have some he has been using himself.
