GABA - Gamma amino butyric acid

Has anyone tried this stuff? GABA - gamma amino butyric acid. I've been reading up about it lately as I look towards less traditional (you know, AEDS) treatments and I wonder, has anyone tried it? If so, what kind of seizures or disorder were you treating and did you find it helped at all? Also, what dosage? It's supposed to inhibit over firing in the brain, and I think there is a potential it could work for me - it's just a matter of ordering it online as I cannot find it in local herbal shops and pharmaciesl. I'd be interested to know if you have tried it.

My wife tried it for a short while. Her doc recommended she try a little bit and see what happened. She had to discontinue it after a short while. GABA Information ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Check out my chart of alternative epilepsy treatments.

From what I have read, Pregaba (GABA at another stage in the biological process) is one of the main ingredients of Lyrica, which is prescribed with other AEDs to help stop partial seizures. GABA is an ingredient in gabapentum - another AED. A girl I know who was on Gabapentum in a high dose experienced tremors which inhibited her ability to do artwork. I will most likely try the pregaba as it's the only thing I can get hold of locally.
