Nutrition

Have any of you found that good nutrition has helped you in regards to your epilepsy or the depression often associated with it? I exercise regularly, but my diet leaves a lot to be desired {confessions of a sugar-addict :-) }.

Try the ketogenic diet-successful carbohydrate free diet. Wheat-both allergy and coeliac disease-is also know to inhibit seizures. I know for a fact that during the war when there was food restrictions, and the only food every1 had was bread, and they fed this to their dogs which all started to seize and get epilepsy!

Yes I TRY to watch my diet, sleep, and vitamins to help. I have been on the ketogenic diet also as an adult in the past. Diet has a big impact on seizures. Watch for MSG and aspartame, for they can cause seizures too. take care Lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/
