Had a bad reaction during my EEG but the results were normal.

I need help!! Ive been experiencing suspected simple partial seizures so my doctor ordered an EEG. Posting anonymously for a member. I had an EEG yesterday morning for suspected seizures. My normal "episodes" are simple partials. After the lights both of my hands went numb, my hand muscles contracted, my fingers started twitching, my leg muscles contracted, and my eyes and lips were twitching. They ended the EEG early because of the reactions had and it took 45 minutes for me to be able to use my hands again. I got my results this morning and they were normal. I'm extremely confused! Has anyone had an experience like this before?? It's a 6 month wait to see a neurologist and the lady who gave me my results couldn't give me any information so I'm kind of stuck in the dark. I have never had any kind of physical symptoms like I did yesterday, and it was very scary.

OK the person doing the EEG

OK the person doing the EEG marks things as each part of the eeg is going. They know how to run the EEG they are not neurologists so that is why she didn't give you information. Now your doctor ordered the EEG. If it is your PCP then he wants it because he is wanting to rule out things that can be causing your issues. Without seeing a seizure they can only go by what you have given them in your talks and answering questions. EEG was done for suspected seizures. Followed by "My normal "episodes" are simple partials." There are other partial seizures and your episode during the EEG can show that. I have had waiting times fo 4-6 months to see a neurologist. Which can be a long time. However it also depends on the neurologist and what the EEG information is that can determine if you will wait that long. There were times I was in Docs office and he had a new patient show up. Normally he had a 3-6 month waiting list. He also knew my questions could wait. So he went in to help the new patient. I have seen his associates read a EEG and call the patient/ So it all depends on the neurologist and what they see in the EEG.As far as the EEG. It was ended early so what they had seen was normal in some ways. Hopefully the person doing it saw what you were doing since they generally watch the patient and the screen. If they did and saw things they would have put information in about what they saw.You are lot alone with what happened. So relax you might get a call. If you haven't in a week then by all means call them.Joe
