Myoclonic jerks/seizures or complex motor tics?

Mon, 12/03/2018 - 18:59
Hi. I’m 18 years old and female. On Wednesday night, I strated having uncontrollable jerking of my arms. It only happened a few times and I didn’t think much of it. On Thursday, I felt off the whole morning (nauseous, disoriented etc) and came home after one class. That night, the uncontrollable jerks started again. It was mainly my left arm and I would jerk it out and snap, clap my hands, and even slap my face. It was nonstop. Same goes for Friday. On Saturday, my eyes started to flutter close and blink rapidly for a few seconds and then a jerk would come almost stopping it. The jerks seem to happen way more when I start to walk/talk etc. I can barely walk, speaking is very hard, etc. I went to the ER and they thought it might be a seizure. CT was normal and they diagnosed me as having a complex motor tic and sent me home. Neurologist ordered an EEG (he bought up Myoclonic when he heard about the eyes) and upon completion, the technician said it was not seizures. Can the technician make a diagnosis like that? I’m very stressed and frustrated. I can’t go to classes or do anything.
