Chat About Seizures

Tue, 12/15/2015 - 13:21

HI everyone, Stop by Chat tonight, Decembe 15th at 7:30 pm east coast time!

Dr. Nikesh Ardeshna, medical director of the Adult Epilepsy Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak Michigan, joins us for Chat About:

  • Topic: Seizures Come in All Different Shapes and Sizes
  • When: Tuesday, December 15, 2015
7:30 to 8:30 pm (east coast time)
  • Whereepilepsy.com chat room

Dr. Ardeshna, a member of the Epilepsy Foundation’s Professional Advisory Board, is an epilepsy specialist with a special interest in treating older people with epilepsy. He also treats adults of all ages and reads EEGs in their epilepsy monitoring unit and critical care unit.

Most commonly seizures are portrayed in the media as generalized tonic-clonic seizures with stiffening and shaking of the body. But there are many other different types of seizures. Some are so subtle and short that they are mistaken for other things.

Dr. Ardeshna will share insights about some of the different symptoms and seizure types that are frequently misunderstood or misdiagnosed in adults. Bring your questions; Chat About is open for questions from all participants!
