Did i have seizure?

So im 16 and for last month or so my sleep has been really bad.For last few days it has ban at its worst and i sleep for few hours and it is very shallow..Yesterday i slept for 3-4 hours and just woken up at around 1am and couldnt get back to sleep till 5am even tho i was really tired.. i took a 2mg pill of Normabel(diazapem) that my brother used to take for his epilepsy..I took it because it is used for calming and helping insomnia..hour after taking it i woken up and was shaking and could not move my body..i tried opening my mouth as my breath was shallow and after minute or two i succeded besrly and stopped shaking and felt asleep again..Im scared that it was seizure because it runs in my family and as i said my brother has it I used to smoke for around a year but i stopped b4 2months and i drink rarley amd started excersisng cause i am little overweight..Sorry for bad english it is not my Mother language

It's generally a good idea to only take medications prescribed for you. That said, that dose is not enough to keep our youngest preteen calm enough to get a shot (it was too much for another child at the same age) so not sure that it mattered. If you are concerned about epilepsy, you should follow up with a doctor - know that only some epilepsies run in families and a lot of people put more weight on that possibility than it actually has. Know that sleep disorders can be mistaken for epilepsy, lots of things can be mistaken for epilepsy...Suggest you work on your sleep routine (avoiding problem foods/drugs, attention to lighting issues, etc) and other healthy habits while you wait to get into an appt - and maybe try magnesium at bedtime as a low key and safe supplement that seems to help some people with sleep.
