Headaches on the left side of the head.

Sun, 03/25/2018 - 23:42
I’ve recently been having headaches on the left side of my head. I also have left temporal lobe epilepsy. The most pain is coming from my left temple, it’s causing my left eye to actually hurt. I haven’t had a grand mal in a year... I had a sharp pain on my left temple & then I got aura.. I’ve tried allergy pills, and it doesn’t work. I’ve tried Advil & it doesn’t even take any of the pain away. It’s been going on for a week & half. I got epilepsy when I was 19, and I’ll be 24 soon. So it’s all still kinda new to me. I don’t know if I’m just overreacting... I would just love for the pain to go away.

I sometimes get a headache

I sometimes get a headache after my seizures, I used to get severe migraines afterwards.  And like you say it came from just behind the eye.  It is definitely related to the temporal lobe seizures.  What's interesting is that persons who have chronic migraines are often treated with the some of the drugs used to treat seizures.  Tell your doctor about it.  With no seizures in a year you hate to tinker with the medications you are taking now, and you probably are not happy about the thought of adding another med, but maybe eventually you can find something else that controls the seizures and the migraines.  Wish you well,Mike

You need to call your neurologist and talk about this issue and where the pain starts. Head aches and migraines are associated with seizures for many people.
