Any insurance policy? any hospital in Chicago???
Wed, 05/17/2006 - 15:12Topic: Insurance Issues
Hello Everyone, I do not know whom to talk and to get help to my brother. I just talked with my brother who has an epilepsy and he told me he is tired of living. He is only 20 years old. He is too depressed. My borther lives in Chicago, could you please let me know if there is any hospital, clinical trial or research that would help him?
When he was in school i did purchase an insurance for him but since this is pre-existing condition, insurance company would not pay for his treatment and he did not want to go to hospital. Now, he is out of his medication and he is too depressed. I did call several clinics, and hospitals but was not successfull. I know it is very expensive treatment but there should be a place he could get help!
Any insurance policy that i could purchase for him that would cover his treatment?

Hello,
Try to contact his doctor and ask him on what insurance your brother can have, I am sure there is a policy for him, and it is the doctor who will and can recommend to insurance companies. After which you can check out quotes at www.insurancepaylite.com they are brokers that can surely help you decide which insurance company is best for your brother. Hope this helps.

Sorry to hear of all the troubles your brother is having - he's lucky to have you! There are a few epilepsy centers in Chicago as well as Epilepsy Foudation affiliates. Either can help him get set up with proper epilepsy care, counseling/mental health support, and help sort out insurance and ways to get meds.
To find doctors and epilepsy centers in Chicago area, go to "Find a Doctor" feature on epilepsy.com and click on AES to find members of the American Epilepsy Society located in that area. Or click on National Association of Epilepsy Centers.
