I really want to know about health insurance? If people w/ pre~existing condition's such as epeilysy can get health insurance real health insurance just like anyone; w/ out any pre~exiting condition(s). It truely seems really hard for someone to get health insurance w/ a pre~exiting condition. Thanks for the help to anyone out there. Kecia

Yes, people with seizures can get health insurance but you need to do your homework. Best is to get into a plan from an employer - this is true for everyone as rates are better. If not working, and income limited, many states offer low cost insurance for those with disabilities - usually through medicaid. Private insurers may offer plans to individuals that may have pre-existing clauses, but these are limited in what they can exclude and for how long. Here is some info on this...

Hi, I don't believe you said wheter or not you worked and paid into a plan. I worked for my home state for 23 years, so I get a policy that while it isn't decent, is one I can live with.

I was added to an insurance policy my fiance has (no longer my fiance, so no longer insured) but no sz's or injuries resulting from them would be covered for 18 months. Mind you, this was not a cheap plan, and my being added to his policy ran him about $28.00 a week (yes, a week, not a month). I haven't had health insurance through an employer in about 8 years, and when my parents paid out of pocket it was $460.00 a month, and that was over 10 years ago, so it's probably gotten even more expensive. Sorry to be so negative, but I am running out of patience for insurance companies. Susan
