Express Scripts
Sun, 09/21/2014 - 19:36Hello everyone,
I have been living with epilepsy for 21 years now. I have been on Keppra and Vimpat for about 6 years and have been doin well. I have the occasional breakthrough in my sleep but all of my seizures are very petite in severity.
I have recently moved to Louisiana and started a new job as an engineer at a paper mill. My prescrition drug plan through my employer is with express scripts and they are telling me that my cost for vimpat will be $547/month or $1200 for a 90 day home delivery. I have been paying $65/month with BCBS. How can they do this to me? Does anyone know how I can get my Vimpat for less? I make a fairly good salary but cannot afford such high prices just for my drugs.
Anyone have any advice?
Is there a generic for vimpat

Is there a generic for vimpat out, otherwise how can they do that, is the drug just not covered at all? You will need to learn your insurance ins and outs, and the laws in your state, your new neurologist might be of help. If there were a released generic, they could force you to pay more for brand.
