Having to switch health insurance

Thu, 08/16/2007 - 14:15
I've just found out that my company will no longer be offering Kaiser medical insurance. I know many people don't like Kaiser, but as I've told my friends -- I'm a Kasier Baby. I won't have to worry about not having coverage, thankfully, but what I am worried about is what kinds of issues might arise when (if) I have to go with a new carrier. Will I have to get all those tests again? What about my medicine? Not to mention breaking in a new neuro. Has anyone dealt with this before who can give me some advice? Thanks All. Well I really feel bad for all of you who live in the US. In Canada they treat you, my family doctor can even, once you have been diagnosed, she gives me my meds and adjusts them. my health plan Manual Life provided the Top doctor in this field and after 46 years of living with this and being told your mentally ill. We now know what it is it is in the hospital computer I don't need retesting the records are there. I have FLE. Now if no confirmation has been given you must go for testing I went in hospital for two days hooked up to 50 wires or so felt like a 1930's horror movie, but in the end the found out and proved it. My Manual Life was so relived my doctors found out and have not trouble continuing my treatments I also carry blue cross from my medical disability because in Canada people with FLE DON'T WORK! FLE is the worst it causes all kinds of weird and unexplainable things. I use to even get drunk on air. :) Today I want to go back to work GABAPENTIN PMS HAS GIVEN ME BACK MY LIFE. 1200MG A DAY SPLIT IN TO FOUR WORKS i am only experiencing slight vertigo in the morning and I couldn't even get out of bed when the realized I wasn't crazy. Oh thank God they believe I was not making this stuff up. every thing I read everything you all say is just epilepsy it can be lived with cause man i climbed a mountain just about fell off it 3000 feet I was rescued from I got 3 diplomas all unmediated. So really it is determination I always knew I was not mentally ill. I can even sue if I want too but I believe thats wrong Doctors are only human too not God and they as much as we wish do not have all the answers. I really feel bad for you all and you poor health care standards. I am thankful I am sick in Canada.

I am going thru the same thing for my daughter right now. And let me tell you, it's a pain. I live in Orange County, CA and we are trying to get a doctor at CHOC. CHOC wants us to send medical records to them and then they will evaluate, before they will assign me a doc. Kaiser wants me to give them a name of the doctor before I can get any records... chicken and the egg... the other thing i'm going to try is to sign up with a regualr ped. associated with CHOC and have all the records sent to him.. then have him refer us to a neuro... and all this time 2 weeks so far.. my daughter is without a doc and i have questions!!! *her old kaiser ped. neuro said that he can't do anything for us or even talk to us because we are no longer kaiser members... :(
