Insurance/medicare
Mon, 01/16/2006 - 11:22Topic: Insurance Issues
Hi, I used to be on a cobra policy from my place of work. Now the policy is reduced to cover a family plan. Yet. medicare does not cover a lot of what the old plan did. For instance, phenobarbitol is no longer covered.

What has me absolutely baffled is the (yes, I'll say it) discrimination that we face from insurance companies. The two meds I take for ep pale in comparison to the face value of the amount of another drug I have to take every day (6/day for compromised immune system). I've looked at my pharmacy's website, and it tells me that the three month supply of the two seizure meds costs less together than HALF of what the other medication costs. What gives?
