What is Transient Alteration of Awareness?

Tue, 04/02/2019 - 15:53
Can anyone explain to me what Transient Alteration Awareness is? I just don't understand what it means. I was diagnosed with it, but can't find anything on it.

Transient means lasting for

Transient means lasting for only a short time.  I've never heard of Transient Alteration of Awareness, but it sounds like another name for what most doctors today would call focal seizure with impaired awareness, or what used to be call complex partial seizure.  Maybe the person making the diagnosis was hesitant to call it a seizure as they may not have ruled out non-epileptic seizures? I think it would be wise to ask the doctor or person making this diagnosis, "Do I have epilepsy?"
