HiI'm wondering if anyone knows of any Long term effects of depkene (or the above mentioned)?I've been on depekene for close to 23 years (ever since i was a little girl) and have developed other illnesses which i am beginning to wonder if they were a result of taking the drug. i know it causes bone density loss (which i do have)...but is there anything else?also, i'd love to hear from anyone else whose been on depekene as long and their experiences.thanks!!

HiI too am very curious of the long term effects of depakote. I was on this medication for 15 years, and just recently after being off of it for 7yrs, I am back taking it. I did notice the small effects disappeared, but my hand tremors are back as well as the tiredness. I did have my bone density checked and that has been fine. When I was taking this medicine 7 yrs ago I was also taking tegretol, neurontin, and mogaden. I always had the weight gain problem. I would appreciate if you can tell me of any other side effects you maybe having that I may not be aware of. Right now I am only taking a very small dosage of depakote, no other medicines are needed. thank you.

hi, just curious how many mg per day r u in.I am on 1000mg /day.I don't seem to have any big problem with it after about 15 yrs.So, i guess it is safe but i don't know about the effect on kids etc.If someone could throw some light on it.I went to epilepsy.com to read some reviews but it wasn't of any help..........

hi i have been on that med since i was 17 now i am 29yrs old.i have no problem except of a suddden loss of appetite which isin't bothersome .The drug is very helpful i am glad that we have a medication for my kind of epilepsy.Thanks to whoever discovered it.I would like to know if anybody is pregnant and is taking that medication or was on it during pregnancy.As i want to have healthy baby (s) i want to know if anybody else was on this effects,outcomes,tests etc etfc.......................please help...
