Diazepam Auto-Injector (Epi-Pen for seizures)?

Fri, 09/08/2006 - 21:48
King Pharmeceuticals and/or Meridian (confusing to a non-buisiness mind) have repoortedly been developing a diazepam auto-injector for Acute Repetitive Seizures as an alternative to Diastat. It was supposed to hit the consumer market in 2003. Where is it? Is anyone else really curious as to whether the device will come out, or if it ever will? As an adult who has been perscribed Diastat, and carries it with me everywhere (along with a blanket to cover up "indecent exposure"), this could be the best thing since sliced bread! So... Anyone know what's going on?

I recently heard on the local news the auto-injector is being used by docs and patients at St Luke's Epilepsy program in Kansas City. MO.
