Jerry,I've tried 16 different medication for my seizures and still the one that gives me the best control with the fewest side effects is Dilantin.  I've been on it almost steadily for 35-40 years.Mike

I was put on Dilantin when I was first diagnosed but I felt terrible so I was switched to some other terrible drug before I was given Lamictal and take that to this day (5 years) glad to hear Dilantin is working for you

My son's been on Tegretol for probably 20 years; Onfi (Clobazam) for nearly a year and the Onfi is really kicking his butt - sleep disturbances, mood, agitation, irritability - you name it BUT seizures are less, so there's a trade-off I guess.
