facial ticks.

Sun, 08/08/2004 - 10:24

I am currently taking Dilantin. I don't know if this is related, but now my one eye is starting to "flicker"  (may not be the right word)

The bottom part of my eye moves all on it's own now.  Has anyone else ever experiened this??  Could it be the result of medication??

  Any input is appreciated.

I have also used Dilantin for many years.  The eye twitch does occasionally happen to me too.  I have always been told by my doctor that it is generally just a sign of stress or fatigue.  Usually a little rest is all I need.  I hope this helps-

I just started taking Dilantin about a week ago 200mg at bedtime.I experience lip twitches (like very tiny "tap-tap-tap" on my lips and rare eye twitches. From what I've read, twitches are a common side effect that go away after awhile.

I get the eye twitch/fluttering too usually when I am stressed out.  I am not on any AED's at this time.

After my episode in the Doc's office monday...I am sure my Neuro will put me back on them next week.
