Intravenous Keppra

Fri, 01/21/2005 - 23:13
I am taking Keppra, small amount of Rivotril and Lamictal. Keppra works quiet well for me but I still have slight seizures or absences. I have read on the Epilepsy news about the intravenous Keppra. Does anybody administrate Keppra intravenously?

Funny - I just attended a lecture on Keppra last night.  The epileptologist speaking does use Keppra IV, for first line treatment in new seizures, status, myoclonic epilepies (except JME).  In HIS ER, he is loading with Keppra, rather than Dilantin - he spoke about HIS results.  Which looked favorable.

IV Keppra is only given in a hospital setting.
