Tue, 05/10/2005 - 13:37

Hi there! Ive never posted on here before so I really hope someone can help me! Im planning on going to Goa later this year. I will need to take anti malarial tablets for a week before I go and a month when I return to the uk, Presently I take 50mg lamotrigine twice a day to control my epilepsy.

Does anyone know if my tablets are ok to take with anti malarial ones??

thanks

The only person who can answer that question is your doctor, to take the advice of unqualified people regarding the mixing of drugs like these could hurt or kill you.

Hi Wendy,

I agree, it is best to check with your doctor about mixing meds, they are best qualified to handle these types of questions. Sorry I couldn't help you out.

Do you really need to take anti-malaria pills, and all that involves, if you are only going to Goa?  I go to India once or twice a year and have never given malaria a thought.  Now is also the dry season.

As far as the Lamot is concerned I would be very suprised if it had any reaction with the anti-malaria tablets (I take it myself) but you might get a medical view on that.

Have a good time in India.
