Shorter Seizures a Good Sign?

Sat, 01/28/2006 - 19:59
My 15 year old son starting having seizures about 6 weeks ago. His first seizure lasted about 2 - 3 minutes. I was not present during his second seizure (happened at school) and I am not sure how long it lasted. I was told a couple of minutes. After his second seizure, he was put on Lamictal, 25mg per day for the first 2 weeks, increasing by 25mg every two weeks. He had his 3rd and 4th seizure while taking just 25mg/day for one week. I was not present for the 3rd (school again), but he was at home for the 4th and it lasted about a minute. He now takes 25mg/morning and 25mg/evening. His 5th seizure, which happened today, lasted about 25 - 30 seconds. Is that a good sign or do seizures occur at random times for random durations?

It can be a good sign. But depending on everything sleep, foods that we eat will make it different. But it truely does change from time to time take care Lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/
