Warning - Don't ever take Tramadol, aka Ultracet, for pain!

Fri, 08/19/2005 - 08:27
I've been taking Ultracet, which is a combination of Tramadol and Acetaminophen, when I get a migraine, and it's pretty much my last resort. It works really well for the pain, although I noticed that it did leave me feeling a little hyper afterward. When I took it a month ago, I felt really odd and light-headed. I took a dose last night and woke up at the end of a seizure, and as far as I know have never had a nocturnal seizure up until now. For the rest of the night I woke up several times every hour at the end of a seizure. I read the prescribing information for Ultracet and it says in bold print that it can cause seizures in patients with epilepsy or a history of seizures! Apparently it does this, and really badly, seeing as how I had too many seizures to even count last night. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this pain medication!
