Horses For Healing: Ever considered horseback riding to help your epilepsy? IT WORKED FOR ME!

Sun, 06/05/2011 - 16:27
Friends, family and fellow epileptics. My name is Ashlee Lecompte. I am 21 years old and suffer from epilepsy. I am a pre-med student at Hillsdale College and I have decided to conduct a cost-free clinical trial for epileptics in need. Hippotherapy (horseback riding as therapy) is the newest state of the art theraputic approach to treat some of the most ailing neurological conditions such as autism, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, Parkinson's disease and many others: each showing incredibly positive results. Sadly, however, there is not much research out there about the effects of hippotherapy on epileptics. I will be working with a professional Hippotherapy farm just out of Chicago this summer. I am looking for 10 participants under the age of 21 to take part in my study. Please give horses a chance to help you. I have lived on a farm all my life and have been riding since I was 6 years old and my epilepsy is completely undercontrol. I have been seizure free for over 18 months. Please consider this route of treatment for you or a family member/friend. Horses For Healing contact at rlecompte@hillsdale.edu
