Do I Need To Move Now?

Thu, 08/02/2018 - 14:16
I have had three incidents where I have passed out in the last three months. I have always had the deja vu feeling going back to my childhood, but it was diagnosed as migraines in the early 1990s. Now at 34, what I thought to be migraines, have become so powerful that I lose consciousness within seconds of getting a sense of deja vu. After the first incident, passing out and collapsing in a food court, I visited a neurologist. After a 3-day EEG, they found nothing. The second time I was at my desk and nobody noticed. Most recently, I was walking back from my apt trash room where I got the deja vu feeling and passed out before I could make it back to my apartment. I woke up on the ground spitting out blood. I went to the hospital where I had a CT scan, EKG, blood test, and urine test; all results came back normal. After researching sites like this and Mayo Clinic, I think I need to really see a specialist. However, I am wondering if it turns out they have been seizures this whole time should I consider relocating. I live in Dallas where transit is ok but not very extensive. I wonder if I should move somewhere that has better mass transit to limit my driving?

Well relocation is not needed

Well relocation is not needed if you live in Dallas. I have been here since 1970. There are epileptologists right here and they are neurologists that specialize in epilepsy. I know how DART works.  I know there are busses and the rail. But I got to and from work or anywhere I wanted to go to. It might take a little more time but I got where I wanted to get. My neurologists (the group I had been seeing since 1971) was across from Presbyterian Hospital. Then they moved to Medical City. Doc retires but 2 of his associates are across the street from Medical City. I knew I would not be able to gt either of them and asked Doc for referrals and the One I now have is associated with Baylor. Her office is on Central Expressway and Park lane. Oh and she is good and specializes in epilepsy too. I have names and addies if you need some. Both of Docs associates work at hospitals near Parkland in 2 or 3 of those hospitals. We have neurosurgeons that they use here too.  I know the major hospitals here in Dallas has specialists. The ones I had been with are the specialists that did testing on new medications that were not approved yet. Or they were approved but being tested for other types of seizures then the ones they were created to stop.I hope this helps.Joe

Thank you so much Joe! All of

Thank you so much Joe! All of this is new to me.  I have been taking the bus to and from work, and I know I can get easily to the airport. I guess it just feels like I am trapped in my home if I'm going anywhere but work.  I definitely would love some of the names of the doctors you mentioned.  I am trying to get a couple of diagnoses.

I know I was one of th people that did testing for some new medications. They are across the tret from Meidcal City. You can get there by riding the red line and get off at forest ln station. They have  shuttle that will take you to Medical City.. I walk all the way thru Medical City and across the street. They have been with the group for many years and both do work at other hospitals.Nicloe Simplins   my current neurologist9101 N. Central Expy. Suite 400Dallas Tx214-820-9272Ride the red line and get off at park lane rail station. You will need to catch the 702 going to NorthPark and get off it right after it turns off of Park lane. Look north and the first building you see will be the building you go into. She is in Suite 400So depending on where you liveyou would always go toward PlanoDoc Simpkins was one of 2 that Doc LeRoy referred me to if the other doctors would be full when I came back for my anual visit. I knew they would be full and Doc simpking is withing a couple of miles from where I live. All of the neurologists I have been with have helped me a lot. I got here in Dallas back n 1970 and had to find a neurologist. So I found one. When they started specializing back in 1985 I have been with specialists since then. Some left others retired. Which is what Dr LeRoy did.I hope this helpJoe
