Dreaming or Waking

Hi! My name is Hailey. I've had epilepsy since I was in high school, but it's never been like this before. It feels like I'm sleepwalking and I can't wake up. It feels like everything that's happened in the past few days is a dream, I remember everything in glimpses and sensations, but nothing feels real. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Hi, Thank you for posting. It’s important that you're able to recognize that your epilepsy and how you’re feeling feels different than it has in the past. It’s also important that your following-up with your healthcare team to discuss this further and if you continue to experience any changes in symptoms, behaviors, moods, side effects or seizure types/frequency,to help determine what individual treatment plan is best for you. Documenting how you’re feeling in detail (like you’ve done in your post), will be very helpful to review with your doctors. My Seizure Diary:https://www.epilepsy.com/living-epilepsy/epilepsy-foundation-my-seizure-diaryis a great tool for identifying & tracking seizures, setting reminders, managing medications & side effects, recording medical history, moods, behaviors, triggers, and other therapies or personal experiences, that may affect seizures and wellness, which can be shared with your healthcare team. Additionally, you may always contact our 24/7 Helpline, where trained information specialists are available to answer your questions, offer help, hope, support, guidance, and access to national and local resources.1-800-332-1000, or contactus@efa.org epilepsy.com/helpline  Or contact your local Epilepsy Foundation: https://www.epilepsy.com/affiliates , find support groups, events, and programs in your community.
