First epilepsy at age 30 + Neck problems - I’m very worried

Sat, 01/04/2020 - 14:44
Hello, While googling my problem I found this website and the wanted to post this to see if anyone has the same symptoms I have. 3 years ago i had pain in my shoulder and when I went to the doctor, he recommended that I do an MRI. He found that my cervical spine (2 of them) are deforming. He told me that it could be because of an injury when I was little or it could be genetic. I got better with physical therapy and I stoped it 3 years ago. I went back to it and followed up with a new doctor and he recommended that I do another MRI and I did. I also scheduled another appt with my doctor to see the MRI report. Now yesterday I woke up and my neck was really stiff. It felt like there is a bone that popped out of its place. I started stretching then I did a door stretch and my wife watched me lean back and fell on the floor. She said that my body started shaking and few seconds later I woke up. I remember my wife was crying and I asked her what was going on because I don’t remember what happened. I’m really scared because I’ve always felt not comfortable with my neck but this is my first time fainting like this. After I woke up I felt that I was sweating so much then my wife got me an orange juice because she said the first thing that came to her head was that I didn’t eat yet and it might be because my sugar level is law. I got better now but I still feel my neck very stiff and hurts when I move it in a certain direction. Please help me if you know anything that will help me. I’m scared to shower or drive and I’m scared of being alone or even dying :(.

Hi, Thank you for posting, we understand this must have been very scary and upsetting for you all to experience. We cannot determine if this episode you describe having was a seizure or not, or what the cause was. It’s very important that you're following up with your doctor to review this further and if you continue to experience neck pain & stiffness, or any additional changes in moods, behaviors or symptoms. Documenting your experience in detail, (like you’ve done in your post), and providing a thorough family & medical history (if possible), will be very helpful to review with your healthcare team.
