Hello Epilepsy Community, I am here to vent...my mother has had these strange recurring seizures, but this is what happened last night because I was there to see it this time: -Out of nowhere, she falls out the bed -Her eyes are rolling back, bloodshot red -She wet the bed numerous times -Upon waking up, she discovers she has bitten her tongue -In the moment, blood was coming out of her mouth (probably from biting the tongue) -Upon waking up, she feels weak, dizzy, groggy, and confused The strangest thing is that when we found her knocked out in the backyard, we took her to emergency room, but she took multiple tests and seizures were ruled out. This is not the first time this has happened. Unfortunately I wasn't there the time she woke up on the floor of her office at work, or when she woke up on the bathtub floor. It started a few years ago, and it could be possible that it is a lack of sleep, second hand exposure to crack cocaine (from her current partner), stress, diet, honestly I'm not sure. She does smoke and has a beer once or twice a month. She also is on the heavier side. I'm so stressed, and I have low emotional intelligence. My mom refuses to tell the doctor she is having seizures because the last time she told them, they took away her license. I'm only in college and I don't have any family to help me care for my mother. Her current partner wants to split up with her because he "can't take it anymore" and doesn't want to be blamed for her condition. I feel so alone. She could die in her sleep and have serious injuries from falling. What happens if she is driving and...you get it, I don't even want to say. I haven't been able to sleep the past few days, and the image of her on the floor with her neck against the nightstand keeps replaying in my head. Please, is there any advice/support anyone can give me? I am trying to get all the support I can from talking to friends, and next week I'm going to go to my school's counseling office to learn to manage the stress. I'm pretty sure she has nocturnal seizures, as all the symptoms I have described bring me back to this. I wish there was more research. If anyone can provide me advice I'd be so thankful. Thank you.
