Hello, this is my first post on here. I have had Epilepsy for 16 years. It started with Tonic clonic seizures. Both of my MRI's have come back fine and my EEG's have failed to show any seizure activity. I was put on Carbatrol and it worked fine for years. I started having simple partial seizures, slowly increasing in frequency. Added Vimpat to the Carbatrol and then increased it. I was recently taken off the Vimpat b/c it wasn't helping. Now taking Keppra. Having anywhere from 1-5 simple partial seizures a day for the past couple of weeks. I got on Monday for an inpatient 3-4 day EEG. Really scared people will think I am faking. I know I am not, just stressed, which makes my seizures worse. Finally had someone see one today that wasn't so freaked out they couldn't tell me what happened. I usually try very hardship hide them, especially at work. I don't even have a specific question. Just felt alone for a long time and finally asking for help of some kind.

It sounds like you have been

It sounds like you have been doing a lot of medication adjustments.  Keep track of every seizure, as well as every medication and the dosage you try.  Doctors rely on this information to determine your qualifications for alternative treatments.  I know what you mean about the fears of what others think of seizures.  I don't have seizures nearly as often as you do and so my fear is more about what others think of my claim that I have epilepsy.  I am very active and don't live as though seizures could happen.  Now that I am talking to doctors about another brain operation I think people are beginning to sense that my condition is more significant that they first believed.  I've had epilepsy for all my life and for treatment I've been through 15 different medications, brain surgery to remove a portion from right temporal lobe, and VNS.  I hope I can be of some support to others facing similar challenges.
