Depakote to Lamotrogine (lamictal)

Mon, 06/22/2015 - 13:13

I was diagnosed with JME when I was 15 I'm 39 and been on Depakote for about 16 years, it worked well on no seizures at all. I decided to switched to Lamictal a few months ago, and I don't think is working very well on me. Any one going through the same situation? I need an advice.

Call your neurologist..

Call your neurologist.. Generally after switching from one medication to another the neurologist may call you in after 2-3 months ti see how your seizures are doing and at that time the dosages can be made. I have done this several times and Doc knows when I call I know it has been long enought to determine if the medication levels need to be increased or decreased. Too much medication is just as bad as too little so it does take working together to get the dosages set. I hope this helps
