Stress is the number one cause of epileptic seizure's. You need to learn to channel the stress so it is not that bad. As for the 3 seizure's in one week that severe I would go in and talk to your Dr. You either need a higher dose, or anthor medication.

Hi Dyanna, Sorry to hear your news. I am also a newer member to the site. I don't have great advice, but I did want to drop you a note. My son is having Grand Mal Seizures, and he often stops breathing after them. The EMS paramedic told me that it is common for SOME people to stop breathing after the seizures, but after a bit of time (20 to 40 seconds) the brain will "reboot" and kick into action. The brain is pretty stubborn and will not allow your body to continue depriving it of oxygen. I can not imagine the fear that you have. I will tell you that I am feeling an overwhealming fear when my boy has his seizures, but I do see his body working on its own to fix the situation the best it can afterwards. I hope that you have loved ones near you keeping an eye on you, and that you are able to do something like yoga, relaxing music and tea, a good book, or something that brings you a bit of relaxation and peace. My son is taking Lamictal, and it seems as though things are starting to calm down with very few side effects. We are around the time that he would usually have a seizure or a cluster, and he has not yet! Welcome to the site, I think you will find lots of wonderful support here. I certainly have. I have my fingers crossed that things will get better for you. Good luck, and let me know how it goes. Mama bear (Tresa)

Thank you for your kind words, I am still having a rough time. I am scheduled to go to UAB to see a new doctor. I am having a lot of love & support from my friends and family right now. I am sorry to hear about your son. It sounds like you are a wonderful mother. I know what it is like to watch your son have a seizure, my son he will turn 7 next week had a seizure from a high fever once. I literally got sick to my stomach. I felt so guilty, I thought I had given him my disease. But, both of my children are normal. I am sure that your love, support and understanding is a tremendous gift. Thanks for brightening my day. Dyanna
