I had epilepsy as a baby

Thu, 09/19/2019 - 01:04
when I was a baby I had a tumor in my left temporal lobe of my brain that caused me to have epilepsy and when I was 7 I had surgery to stop my epilepsy. the type of epilepsy I had was grand mal seizures and petite mal seizures and because of the surgery I ended up with a blind spot in my right eye we’re I can’t see what’s behind me but I can see what’s in front of me. But because I had surgery my mom told me I can’t wear glasses is it true that people who had surgery for epilepsy can’t wear glasses ?

Never heard of such a thing, but perhaps what she is saying is that your vision problems are not correctable with glasses. I’ve worked as a rehabilitation counselor with the blind and visually impaired and I also have vision problems because of an organic brain injury and epilepsy that are not correctable with glasses. But, this is really a question for the neurosurgeon, neurologist and/or optometrist or ophthalmologist though. Only an eye exam can tell if glasses can help.
