lack of period

hi everyone im new here! i am 31 and am on 600mg epilim. i recently reduced from 800mg. came off the pill bout 3-4 mths ago to try for a baby. my last period is now 12 days late which is really unusual and i have been off the pill in the past and never missed. i have taken 3 tests all which were negative. anyone have simular experiences or any advice??

Yes! I am going through the same thing right now. My period is always really regular and I also stopped the pill about 4 mos ago. I had my first seizures in Jan and started Keppra then. Now, I can't remember having a period since the end of Dec. I've taken three pregnancy tests now, all negative. I called my neuro about a week ago, and he just told me that it was unlikely due to my meds and to go see my gyno. I've been going crazy trying to figure out if something hormonal could have triggered the seizures and stopped the periods (my seizures were exactly 3 weeks apart, to the hour) or if the seizures stressed my body and stopped my periods. Or maybe I'm pregnant and that triggered the seizures. Ugh. The thing is, I've always been really regular and much more stressed and it never caused me to miss a period before. I don't think I'm pregnant, and so I really think maybe it's the meds. Please keep me posted on what you find out. I have an appt with my gyno in the next couple of weeks.

hi i finally started my period 15 days late!!! think it prob mixture of coming off pill,epilim and worrying. hope your doc appointment goes well. let me know how u get on x

Hi, I was on Depakote when I stoped having my period so I told my neurologist and he took me off the depakote immediately. It wasn't controlling my seizures anyway, but if I were you I'd talk to my neuro. You never know what these meds are doing to our bodies, so anytime I have a side effect I'm not comfortable with I call him, I don't care if he thinks I'm a pain in his ass, I want to make sure I'm healthy, it seems sometimes I'd rather have the seizures instead of dealing with harsh side effects.
