PMS herbs without catamenial personality changes

I recently made an appointment with my first ND. I think that the amount of expertise vary greatly in this profession as some people don't even need to be certified to practice. I went to a lady certified and working for 25 years. She, however, is no neurologist. I told her about my seizure threshold being lowered right before I have my periodd, when progesterone takes a sharp dive. I know that the drastic change, not necessarily just the amount of progesterone, estrogen, LH and all that jazz, but the pattern and how my brain responds to the change. She said to try this stuff called "Spectra 305-P" which is a combo of a bunch of herbs, roots, B6... oh... I just read the label again and noticed I'm taking freeze dried cow ovaries. Interesting. Not sure how I feel about that - sorry Bertha the Cow. Just wondering what you thought about these pills designed for leveling out hormone changes so people don't get all pissy. I don't get monthly moods. Might be because I'm sick, but I've been prone to depression in the past and I sort of feel "bleh" lately. This was a good site, but God knows what these natural things do in combo. http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/58481.cfm#R Not stopping my Western medicine, but that only sorta works, so I'm exploring. Any experience? If I take that progesterone cream instead, do you think I'll be all forlorn all the time? Caboose.
