Is there anyone out there who has been diagnosed with epilepsy and works as a nurse?

Hi, I can certainly relate to your confusion. My daughter was 9 when she began to have seizures. She is now 22 and we have been through a lot of different meds to control them. I was diagnosed with epilepsy at 19, but never had anything that I would have "recognized" as a seizure until I was 47 years old. I would be happy to talk to you anytime. You can e-mail me directly at [email protected] if you would like. Blessings, Barb

I have epilepsy and am considering getting back into the nusing field. I was nusing when I was first diagnosed, but was much better controlled back then. I was on Dilantin and we thought I had plain old grand mal seizures. We have recently discovered I have partial onset sz however. I have had a grand mal, and 2 partial complex, plus at least 4-6 other partial seizures since Jan 2005. I've been on 5 different meds and will now be leaving the wolrd of monotherapy. I have been told I am now borderline difficult to treat. DO you work in the field currently? Sheri
